They Prayed!

We are commanded to pray; 1 Thessalonians 5:17 AMP says, “be unceasing and persistent in prayer.” Here are some examples of people who were persistent in prayer and God answered.

Moses: Exodus 15:24-25

24 Then the people complained and turned against Moses. “What are we going to drink?” they demanded. 25 So Moses cried out to the Lord for help, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. Moses threw it into the water, and this made the water good to drink.

It was there at Marah that the Lord set before them the following decree as a standard to test their faithfulness to him.

Gideon: Judges 6:39-40

39 Then Gideon said to God, “Please don’t be angry with me, but let me make one more request. Let me use the fleece for one more test. This time let the fleece remain dry while the ground around it is wet with dew.” 40 So that night God did as Gideon asked. The fleece was dry in the morning, but the ground was covered with dew.

Hannah: 1 Samuel 1:27

27 I asked the Lord to give me this boy, and he has granted my request.

David: Psalm 21:2

For you have given him his heart’s desire;
    you have withheld nothing he requested.

The Early Church: Acts 4:31

31 After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
