Life can be difficult at times. It seems that no matter how hard we try, difficulties seem to invade our lives. What do we do when the life we knew ended and our lives are filled with turmoil? That is a question that has stumped many; we have no idea how to navigate those difficult moments in our lives.
No one who lives on this earth is immune from the difficulties of life. But what do we do? Our first response is usually fear. The enemy will cause situations to escalate in our lives and we become fearful. Isaiah 41:10 NLT says, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” When we face the difficult circumstances in our lives, we can stand strong knowing that God is with us.
Difficulties many times lead to worry. However, Philippians 4: 6-7 NLT says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” This tells us that worry in not the answer; the answer we need is found in God. Charles Stanley said, “Our heavenly Father understands our disappointment, suffering, pain, fear, and doubt. He is always there to encourage our hearts and help us understand that He’s sufficient for all our needs. When I accepted this as an absolute truth in my life, I found that my worrying stopped.”
It doesn’t matter what happens in our lives, we know that we will face difficult times, but we can put our trust in God. We do not have to resort to worry and fear. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” Trust God and He would be our strength through the difficulties of life.
