What a blessing to cross over into a new year. We all can think of someone or some people who crossed over with us in 2023 and are not here in 2024. What does that say? It says that we have experienced the goodness and faithfulness of God. God chose to spare our lives to see this new year and I must say that I am grateful.
Jeremiah expressed that sentiment in Lamentations 3:22-23 AMP. It says, “It is because of the Lord’s lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, Because His [tender] compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness.” Yes, that beautifully expresses what is in my heart: “Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness.” When people talk about faithfulness, they talk in context of relationships; so we hear a man is faithful to his wife or a woman is faithful to her husband. But God’s faithfulness is so much more; even when we are unfaithful, God remains faithful.
What does that mean as we contemplate 2024? Let’s refer to Jeremiah again: “It is because of the Lord’s lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, Because His [tender] compassions never fail.” The same God who brought us through 2023 is the same God who is ready to take us through 2024. Choose whose voice you want to guide you. There are those who are ready to tell us how terrible 2024 will be. They said the same about 2023 and we made it through. Happy New Year and remain faithful to God because He is and will always be faithful to you.
Thought for Today: Friend, Happy and blessed 2024!
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
