God’s Kindness

Have you ever had an experience where you’ve given all that you have financially, emotionally, and sometimes physically and you say enough is enough? At that point, it’s difficult to keep going providing help and support. Our humanity is exhausted and there seems to be nothing left in our basket.

But is that what God expects from us? When Peter asked Jesus about Jesus about interacting with someone who fails us and extending forgiveness, Peter thought that seven times was fair, but Jesus told him not seven times but seventy times seven. Why should we extend ourselves when the other party continues to push the proverbial button? In Romans 2, there was a problem in the early church; the Jews ware disapproving of their Gentile brothers and sisters and the Apostle Paul told them that they were behaving in the same manner when they accuse the others of doing wrong. He asked them,  “Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?” (Verse 4 NLT)

Day after day we experience the kindness of God. God showers all of us not just those who have made Him the Lord of their lives. Acts 14:17 NIV says, yet He did not leave Himself without some witness [as evidence of Himself], in that He kept constantly doing good things and showing you kindness, and giving you rains from heaven and productive seasons, filling your hearts with food and happiness.”  That is an example for us. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. (Galatians 6:10 NLT)

Thought for Today: Friend, let us work at showing kindness to everyone.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
