Uncertain times. We must admit that we live in uncertain times. If we are not careful, it would become the topic of conversation every time we interact with someone.
The dictionary defines uncertainty as not knowing what to do or believe or not able to decide about something. And that is the predicament we face. Uncertainty has by-products, one of which is fear. There is fear of tomorrow because we don’t know what will happen, and we expect the worst. We are fearful when we think about our children and their future, and we wonder what the future holds for them and we experience another by-product of uncertainty: anxiety.
If we’re not careful, we can find ourselves along the path where we experience every by-product of uncertainty. But in uncertain times, we need to trust God. Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Don’t take matters into your own hands. The God we serve is never caught unawares, He has the final decision. (Proverbs 16:33).
God does not change. I’m sure you can identify the goodness of God in your life. Do you remember the time when you thought that the situation you faced would be your demise and God snatched victory from the jaws of defeat? “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8). When we have the unchanging God on our side, we do not need to worry in uncertain times. You see, in uncertain times, we continue to trust in God.
Thought for Today: Friend, God does not change.
