Need a Changed Heart? Try Jesus!

Have you ever had an experience where there was something in your home that needed your attention, and you decided to fix it yourself? I’m sure that I am not the only person who has taken those matters into my own hands. Sometimes the ‘fix’ work and other times, it depends on who is evaluating. What can we do to guarantee the best results every time we attempt a ‘fix it’ project? We need to check the manufacturer’s information.

Sometimes we apply that fix it, mentality to our lives. We notice that we have a problem in a certain area, and we want to see change. We believe that we can correct whatever is not working right. And there are things in our life we can fix. If we are expiring issues because we are inactive then we can begin walking. If we find that we are consuming too much cake and ice cream, we can reassign those items to major holidays. But if there is a problem that involves the heart where vile and evil words  are flowing out of the mouth like a broken faucet and it exposes a problem of character and lack of self-control then this is beyond the capacity of man to rectify. This is a manufacturer issue! The Bible says, “The heart is deceitful above all things And it is extremely sick; Who can understand it fully and know its secret motives?” (Jeremiah 17:9 AMP).

But there is hope. Jesus Christ came to provide the remedy for these issues. 2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT says, “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” If you recognize that you need a change of heart, you can do it yourself and make a mess or allow Jesus Christ to change you from the inside out.

Thought for Today: Friend, it’s a heart thing.
