There are people who work diligently doing what is right because they believe that if you do what is right, all will be well. There are times that this is true, unfortunately that is not always the case. You see, there are those who secretly plot to undermine the good you do.
Daniel tells about three Hebrew young men who worked diligently doing what was right. In Chapter 2 the king promoted these men. Then the king commanded that everyone bow down and worship an idol. These young men knew that Exodus 20:4-5 forbid the making and worshipping of idols, so they did not bow. When the king was informed of their actions, he confronted them with punishment, they said: “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.” (Daniel 3:17-18 NLT).
The king became enraged and had them thrown into the furnace, but when the king looked, he saw four individuals walking around in the fire that should have consumed the three young men. Sometimes, you experience issues that seem like a fiery furnace experience that wants to consume you. The Lord will show up and be with you in the fire. Even now, Jesus Christ still speaks peace to your storms, your fiery furnace or whatever is happening in your life. Keep trusting God; He’s walking in the fire with you.
