We live in a world where our choices impact our lives. We can choose to live for God and that choice impacts our life and produces a favorable outcome. We can also make negative choices and receive the reward of those negative choices. The best decision anyone can make is the decision to follow Jesus.
There are benefits when we choose to live a life that pleases God. One of those benefits is peace. One definition of peace is inner tranquility from being right with God. So, you cannot find real peace outside of God because peace is a gift from God. Jesus said, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27 NLT). Jesus Christ extends this gift t to all those who choose to make Him the Lord and Savior of their life.
And it only gets better! God promises peace. “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah 26:3). All we have to do is keep our minds on our God instead of focusing on the things that are happening around us. Then our God pours His blessing over us: “The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace.” (Psalms 29:11). God has invested much to ensure we live with inner tranquility. Let’s endeavor to walk in His peace: God’s Shalom peace!
