Navigating the Mountaintop and Valley Experiences of Life!

Yesterday we celebrated Palm Sunday. We remembered Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem; He came riding on a donkey and the people laid down their clothes and branches from trees. It was glorious and the people shouted, “Hosanna in the highest.” (Matthew 21:8-9).

Jesus came to earth with one purpose, which is to fulfill His Father’s plan. When Adam sinned, God had a plan. Man was unable to bridge the gap that sin created; God had to send His sinless Son to redeem sinful man. He walked the earth and taught the people the Good News of the kingdom, and healed the sick, raised the dead, fed the hungry, and  loosed the bound .“For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:21 NLT). That was His assignment. All the while He was riding on that donkey, He knew that these same people shouting Hosanna today in a few days would be shouting crucify him. What is the lesson here?

At times, you’ll find yourself being celebrated, and it may feel as though nothing can hold you back! Always remember, we have mountain top experiences when we are walking in favor and life is at its best. However, you also experience those valleys when the crowd disappears, or life beats you down and you feel all alone. In those moments what do you do? Tracy Dartt wrote a song of encouragement for those moments; it says: “For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley.” In the highs and lows of life, He is God.

Thought for Today: Friend, God has said, “I will never abandon you or leave you.” (Hebrews 13:5 GW).
