Have you ever found yourself unexpectedly pulled into a situation simply because you were in the right place at the right moment, without having any clue it was happening? You were just going about your business, and you find yourself at the center of the issue. Well King Agrippa in the book of Acts had that kind of experience.
King Agrippa visited the city where Paul was imprisoned. The religious leaders wanted to kill him to stop his message, but the Roman officials had great difficulty identifying his crime. So King Agrippa is hearing Paul’s defense. Paul shared his conversion and had a profound impact on King Agrippa; Then Agrippa said to Paul, “In a short time [and with so little effort] you [almost] persuade me to become a Christian.” (Acts 26:28 AMP). In other words, Paul’s defense touched his heart, but he was unwilling to respond to the message that brings change in the heart.
Some individuals hear the gospel message and feel moved, yet they hesitate to commit to following Jesus. Our responsibility is to share the message of the Good News. John 3:18 TPT says, So now there is no longer any condemnation for those who believe in him, but the unbeliever already lives under condemnation because they do not believe in the name of the only Son of God. King Agrippa must take personal responsibility for his salvation. If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. (Romans 10:9-10 NLT). We are responsible for the word of God in our lives.
Thought for Today: Friend, what is your response to the Good News?
