How do you prepare for battle? Many of us might wonder what kind of question that is. Yet the fact remains: we have an enemy, and we are in a fight. This battle does not require us to run to the store and buy guns or swords. It is a different kind of battle, and it calls for different kinds of weapons.
The enemy we face does not use weapons found in the store; he wants to destroy you from the inside out. How do we fight this enemy and what weapons can we use? The Apostle Paul identifies the enemy in Ephesians 6:12 CEV; it says, We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world. Then he identifies the weapons in 2 Corinthians 10:4 GW said, “The weapons we use in our fight are not made by humans. Rather, they are powerful weapons from God. With them we destroy people’s defenses, that is, their arguments.”
The enemy wants to control your mind so that he would get you to doubt the Word of God. That is what he did to Eve in the garden. When their discussion turned to the actions and consequences about the fruit in the garden; she told him that disobedience would result in their death; his response was, “No, you won’t!” (Genesis 3:4). The woman to doubted God and engage in sinful behavior. He is still using those same tactics today, but we have the Word of God to fight. Let God be found true [as He will be], though every person be found a liar, just as it is written [in Scripture]. (Romans 3:4 AMP). God’s word is true.
