Wash yourselves and be clean! Get your sins out of my sight. Give up your evil ways. Isaiah 1:16 NLT
The book of Isaiah begins with God’s displeasure concerning His people. He recalls all the things His people have done that are evil in His sight. He rejected their efforts and their offerings. Verse 15 says, “When you lift up your hands in prayer, I will not look. Though you offer many prayers, I will not listen, for your hands are covered with the blood of innocent victims.” Before they could resume a relationship with God there are some things they had to do.
The first step in the process of restoration is cleaning. Cleaning acknowledges that there is something wrong. You don’t wash your laundry, fold and put them away in the evening and awake next morning and wash them again. No! You go to the place in the house where you have dirty items and take them to the washroom and wash them. That is exactly what God asked them to do. Thank God that there is a way to get clean before God. 1 John 1:9 says, “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” God didn’t say get clean and leave you alone: He provided a way for you to become clean.
Thought for Today: If I confess then God forgives.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
Thank God for his cleansing power.
