God’s Perfect Plan

“And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.”                                                                           1 Thessalonians 5:18 TPT

This is a powerful word from a mighty man of God. On the service it appears easy. After all we all love to give thanks for the good things that come our way, right? But that is not what he is saying. The scripture says in everything; while your storm is raging; while ill winds are blowing; while your secret fears are a reality, it says we must give thanks.

Is God being wicked? No! Romans 8:28 says. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” In other words, God will not let your pain go in vain. And if that is not enough, Hebrews 13:5 says, “For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” The secret to giving thanks in all in all circumstances is knowing that God is with you.

God has a plan for your life. As He works out that plan He also works on you, to prepare you for the journey ahead. He knows how to shape your character to make you successful where you are going. So at times, the preparation can be painful. Listen to the athletes who are on the top in their sport and they will tell stories of training and preparation. When they win the gold, the pain of preparation is forgotten as they bask in victory. So when the ‘everything’ storms into your life, you can give thanks because the Almighty God has all things under control.

Thought for Today: Today’s pain gives way to tomorrow’s victory.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.

  1. In everything we must give thanks. Thank you for the gentle reminder as not everyday will be sunshine and smiles. Through the storms of life let’s give him thanks too. Amen. Thank you Lord. Thank you Pastor Scott.
