Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28 NLT
At times it seems that life is just a series of battles. You are in one and before you have conquered that battle, another presents itself. So what do you do when you are overwhelmed with the problems you face in life? Jesus has the answer when you find yourself burdened and overwhelmed. He said come to me with those heavy burdens you are carrying. Those burdens that are so heavy that you have buckled under the weight and pressure.
Jesus said come. Move close to me and give it to me. I will take that load you are carrying. I will give you rest from the work of carrying that load. We carry many loads in this life. So what are some of the burdens we carry in life? Jesus does not discriminate; He would take any burden. Jesus took the burden of disability when he healed the blind man. He took the burden of sickness and pain when He healed Jairus’ daughter. He took the burden of death when He raised Lazarus from the dead. He took the burden of sin when He died on the cross. Whatever your load, He is willing to remove the weight of your burden and give you rest.
Thought for Today: Jesus will take your burden and give you rest.
