You Are Not Alone

Be strong. Take courage. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t give them a second thought because God, your God, is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 MSG

Every community has a system in place when they change leadership. This community was no different. Moses came to the end of his assignment. He was not going to lead this community to the other side of Jordan. So, he wanted to encourage the people, to continue on their journey with confidence. He said be strong! Isaiah 35:4 says, “Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.” Moses knew that they would not survive the journey if they walked with fear in their hearts.

I could understand how the thought of your enemies intimidate you. But God is saying be strong. Your God is right there with you. He won’t leave you; He won’t let you down. So now, look at your enemy. Look at your enemy through the eyes of your God who is ahead of you. Do you see any reason to be intimidated? Deuteronomy 28:7 says, “God will defeat your enemies who attack you. They’ll come at you on one road and run away on seven roads.” Your God will give you the victory over your enemies.
