The Lord, My Help

I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! Psalms 121:1-2 NLT

We live in a world today where everyone is in need of something. The poor says that they need money so that they can be happy. The wealthy says that they need peace of mind so they could be happy. The young wishes they were older and the older wishes they were younger.  It seems almost everyone have something they believe that they desperately need. David had a variety of experiences; he lived in the field taking care of sheep and lived in luxury in the palace. He recognized that the things people were searching for did not bring happiness or comfort in the time of distress.

David spent many years running from Saul. He learned a few things during that time. Maybe the most valuable lesson he learned in his life is that real help comes from God.  Your help is not made from man’s hands. Only God is able to make the difference in your circumstances and in your lives. While it’s true that men have the ability and power to help you; it’s also true that they can can quickly withdraw their help and leave you stranded. God is not like man. His help is not dependent on feelings. During the most difficult times in your life, you can look to the hills because your help comes from the Lord.

Thought for today: The Lord is the only help you need

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.

  1. God is our ultimate help. Whenever we tap into his presence, he’s our Waymaker, miracle worker, promise keeper and when our way seems dark, he is the light in the darkness.

  2. The days I enjoy the more I understand within my soul (my humanness) that emotions and feelings and thinking, and wants, and desires, (the “old man”) must be managed Daily with the Word. The experiences change in life from moment to moment every day-some days more challenging than others. God will work on the Earth through surrendered vessels however, my focus cannot be fallible man, like me but Jehovah God Almighty. 👍🏽
