The nation of Israel lived in Egypt for a number of years. The Pharaoh, who promoted Joseph, invited his family to make their home in Egypt. They became so powerful that a Pharaoh who didn’t know about Joseph enslaved them. God raised up Moses to lead them out of Egypt and to deliver His people from slavery. After the death of Moses, Joshua was the new leader. I’m sure it was intimidating to succeed a mighty man like Moses. So Joshua was afraid.
Moses left big shoes for Joshua to fill. However, God called Joshua but he cannot be an effective leader if he was walking in fear. God stepped in and ministered to Joshua. He commanded him to be strong. He said, “I will be with you.” He wanted Joshua to know, there are battles ahead but I will be with you. You will find yourself in unfamiliar places, I will be there. Yes the job of a leader can be difficult, but you don’t have to fight all those battles alone. Isaiah 35:4 says, “Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.” He is saying the same thing to you today, trust me, I am with you.

I am going through a difficult time now and it is comforting to know that God is with me, the savior knows and will fight my battles. Amen, thank you for sharing God’s word.
