Victory Through Faith

For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. 1 John 5:4 NLT

Everyone I know wants victory in their lives. That desire does not begin when you become an adult, it begins when you are baby.  The baby is working to be victorious at holding the bottle. The baby will try and the bottle will fall; however, that child will keep trying until he or she can hold the bottle independently. The baby has won the battle of holding the bottle.

In the walk of faith, we all want to be successful. It is a fight because anything worth achieving comes with a cost. In Joshua chapter 2, we meet a woman with a challenge. She met some foreign men in her city. Their reputation had preceded them. The members of her community heard about their exploits and how their God made them victorious over their enemies. The citizens of her country were afraid but she decided to trust these men.

When the king heard that the visitors were in their community he sent a message to Rahab to turn them over. She decided to put her faith and her life in the hands of these strangers and their God. The spies promised to protect her with their lives if she did not betray them. She placed her faith in God and her faith was rewarded. When Jericho fell, she and her family were safe. Her faith made the difference. The Apostle John says we achieve this victory through our faith.

Thought for Today: Faith in God brings victory

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.

  1. We usually put our faith in everything else. But when it comes to faith in God, we tend to be unsure or iffy about if it will turns out the way we want it too.
