Forgiven

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 John 1:9 NLT

Sin is a problem for God because He is holy. David said it this way in Psalm 5:4, “O God, you take no pleasure in wickedness.”  This presented a problem for God. So He provided a solution; He sent his son to restore what was lost by dying on the cross. Does that mean automatic resolution to the problem of sin? No! God did His part and now man has to do his part. In order to walk in that right relationship with God, you have to acknowledge that you have sinned and is in need of God’s forgiveness.

So what is forgiveness? Forgiveness is simply a restoring of the relationship between God and man. Exodus 34:6 says, “Then he passed in front of Moses, calling out, “The Lord, the Lord, a compassionate and merciful God, patient, always faithful and ready to forgive.” The Lord wants to forgive you.

You do not need any special skills or abilities to take advantage of His forgiveness. He offers the opportunity to be cleansed from all wickedness.  All you need to do is acknowledge your wrong; confess your sins; and accept His forgiveness. Romans 10:13 says, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
