When You Pray

Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” Exodus 3:9-10 NKJV

What do you do when your situation is hopeless? You examine every option available to you but you can’t understand why things are still the same. In fact, if you are honest, you have to admit that the situation has grown worse. What do you do when nothing seems to work?

Many times you feel that God is not listening to your prayers. You pray, year in and year out but the situation remains the same. When you read this conversation between Moses and God, you realize that God is indeed listening. The children of Israel had been enslaved in Egypt for a number of years. During that time they had been looking to God for deliverance. I’m sure many of them felt like giving up but they continued to pray.

God answers prayer in His own time. He is not hurried by your desperation. But He moves in His perfect timing. When you think that God is not responding, many times He is working out the details to give you an expected end. God had Moses training, taking care of sheep as preparation for the mission to take His people out of Egypt. The man who he was before his encounter with God, killed a man in a fight. This man who came from the field taking care of the sheep, had the patience to lead the people. Your wait time is the period when God is putting your plan for deliverance in motion. When it appears that nothing is happening, be encouraged because God is working.

Thought for Today: Never get tired waiting on God

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
