He Gives Benefits

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.  Psalm 23:6 NLT

When you watch a movie, there are surprises at the end. Sometimes the end is predictable and other times, the ending is unexpected. So this Psalm has a glorious ending. There are so many stories of people who pursue others; in this society we call them stalkers. I don’t know about you, but I want God’s goodness and unfailing love to pursue; follow me; chase after me.

Nahum experienced the goodness of God in 1:7 he said, “The Lord is good a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.” Just about every life experiences some sort of trouble, but your Shepherd does not abandon you when troubles come your way. He is a refuge, a place of safety, a hiding place in the time of trouble. Plus His unfailing love will also pursue you, Psalm 89:28 says, “I will love him and be kind to him forever; my covenant with him will never end.”

It’s easy to understand why David exclaimed, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits,” in Psalm 103:2. The Shepherd has a benefit plan for all who follow Him. You cannot partake of the benefits if He is not your Shepherd. Today He says come; come to me with your baggage and I will exchange your baggage for benefits.

Thought for Today: Take advantage of the benefit program

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
