Wait!

Be still before the Lord ; wait patiently for Him and entrust yourself to Him; Do not fret (whine, agonize) because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. PSALMS 37:7 AMP

How many times have you compared yourself to those who do wrong and you feel that you are coming up short? They seem to be prospering in their activities and you are struggling living righteously. You wonder how long would this go on and if there would ever be a change. But David answered that questions in this verse. There is a reason that he is so firm in his belief. This is a Psalm written when David was an older man. He had the opportunity to see seasons change in the lives of those who carried out wicked schemes.

David gave the evidence to support his statement in verses 9 and 10. Verse 10 says “For yet a little while and the wicked one will be gone [forever]; Though you look carefully where he used to be, he will not be [found].” Those same people who were prosperous before experienced change. They are no longer there. When things are not happening the way you would like, wait. When the change you desire seems out of reach, wait. When the enemy wants to come in like a flood, wait. Don’t waste your time fretting, instead invest your time trusting in and waiting on God. Why? Verse 23 says your steps are ordered by God.

Thought for Today: Trust God in every season of your life

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
