Change Through Thanksgiving

Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him. Psalm 95:12 NLT

This is the season where people like to think that they are giving thanks. When you listen to children and adults, thanksgiving is based on what they have. So you give thanks for your new game, your new house or your new car. While these things are wonderful, if you base your thanksgiving on possessions, then what do you do if there’s a fire and it reduces your possessions to ashes? So it’s time to change the focus of thanksgiving from possessions to God. God’s blessings are worth more than money.  You see, if you lose a house, God could open the way for you to get another house. When God blesses you with the gift of another day, then you should give thanks.

Many times, when we go to the House of Worship, there is singing that is led by a Worship Leader. In this Psalm David is leading people in worship. He was not selfish; he invited everyone to join with him. He was concerned with the attitude in worship; he wanted the congregation to sing joyfully. As humans, we are affected by the things that are happening around us. In this season of Covid-19, there could be sorrow as you look at what’s happening with your family and your friends. There are faces you will not see again. But even in the face of loss, you can sing joyfully to the Rock of your salvation.

. David continued. He wanted the people assembled to come before God with thanksgiving. Notice, David didn’t give any conditions when he said to come before God with thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is not conditional. It is not based on how much money you have or the health of your family. Thanksgiving is what you do when you come into the presence of God. When you give thanks, it brings change into your life. Your focus will change from your problems to God. Then watch God change you in your situation.

Thought for Today: Friend, thanksgiving is a change agent.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.

Yes, so true. I poured out the pain in my ❤️ heart before Him this morning and made room for being thankful.
