In God’s Time

If you bow low in God’s awesome presence he will eventually exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands. 1 Peter 5:6 TPT

The world today has changed. Many cultures bowed before people of influence and wealth in the past. This does not happen anymore, at least, not in the western world. Even in houses of worship, submission does not come easy. In the dictionary, submission means, yielding to the authority of another person. This is also a problem in homes, the work place or any where people gather. Sometimes, people have difficulty submitting to the authority of God. Peter was addressing the men in the church and he wanted the group to understand how to work together. As he outlined the responsibilities of elders and young men, he said,  In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, dress yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Verse 5.

So pride is not something that God rewards. But submission to God comes with benefits. Peter explained that God will exalt you if you bow low before Him. Many people believe that the road going up have stairs on the backs of the people they exploit. God says the opposite is true. When you bow low before God, the Creator of the universe, He will lift you up in His own time. It’s not a case of bowing today and you get lifted tomorrow. It’s when God is ready. God has the power to bring change into your situation. If you bumble yourself before God He will exalt you in His time.

Thought for Today: God will lift you up when you bow down.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory
