A Safe Place

This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. Psalm 91:2 NLT

About a year ago, the world approached the beginning of the lockdown. Everything was uncertain. There were people dying in large numbers and the future was uncertain. Fear, was in the heart and mind of everyone. Covid-19 was the great equalizer; it took the lives of individuals in every sector of society. Psalm 91 brought comfort to many during this time. Verse 2 talks about the Lord: the only refuge. The dictionary defines refuge as a shelter or protection from danger or trouble. So the best place to take refuge is in the Lord. It’s easy to see why the psalmist declared in 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength,  always ready to help in times of trouble.”

One year later, we look back and give thanks because last March, we had no idea what the future would be. However, one must not forget that the Lord, our divine refuge, is the reason we are here today.  There are many instances in scripture where God provided a safe place for His children. When God spoke with Moses in Exodus 33, He decided to show Moses His glory. But, man was not allowed to see God’s glory and live so God provides a refuge for Moses. “As my glorious presence passes by, I will hide you in the crevice of the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.” verse 22. God is willing to be your refuge.

Thought for Today: God provides a safe place from trouble.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.

  1. He hides my soul in the cleft of the rock and covers me there with His love. I too wish to give thanks and praise to Almighty God for bringing my family and I through an uncertain 2020. God be praised.Thank you for this daily victory walk Claudette, may God continue to abundantly pour into you as you pour into the nations of the world.
