Fear Not!

For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 TPT

Life! It’s a journey. When you think you have seen it all or experienced it all, something new comes on the horizon.  One day I had surgery that seemed to be successful. However, within a few days in was back in the hospital. My condition became worst so I spent about two weeks there. The people around me were concerned; there was an issue with my wound and the normal healing process. Visitors looked at me and began to pray; I could not see what they were seeing; I thought all was well.

If you face a situation that seems hopeless what would you do? You can cower in fear or you can trust God. Honestly, I was so sick that for some time, I didn’t know how dangerous my condition was. But as I continued to make progress, I was never afraid. When facing the unknown, it’s good to know that God has what you need so you can stand. Paul told Timothy, fear is not from God. Do you resort to fear when your son wants to your throne and your life? When David faced this dilemma but he didn’t speak fear. He said, “So now I’ll lie down and sleep like a baby— then I’ll awake in safety, for you surround me with your glory. Even though ten thousand dark powers prowl around me,I won’t be afraid.” Psalm 3:5-6. David did not allow the spirit of fear to control his life.

David is not the only one who faced perils in his life. He faced the terror in his life head on. He used wisdom to safeguard his life, but never doubted that God was able to protect him. David was so confident in the God he served that he went to sleep and predicted that he would sleep like a baby. There are so many people who can’t sleep when things go wrong in their lives because they live and walk in fear. But when you reflect on the Holy Spirit in your life, you can’t help but trust God.

Thought for Today: Friend, don’t live and walk in fear; trust God.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
