No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17 NKJV
Men love action movies and my husband is no different. Sometimes, he watches the old James Bond movies. You know the familiar line: “My name is Bond. James Bond” I will usually watch for a few minutes because I’m not a movie person. I’m always amazed with the character Q. He invents the most outrageous items! Then, they are the weapons and gadgets that James needs so he can survive the enemy attack and accomplish his mission. It’s really easy to defeat the enemy when you are 007, James Bond.
Unfortunately, life is not like that. There is no Q working behind the scenes to anticipate the attack and plan the weapon you would need. However, in our lives, we have someone who provides victory in the battles we face. When the Lord is on our side we are more successful than James Bond. James has to run from his enemies but when you serve God, the opposite is true. Deuteronomy 28:7 tells us, “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.” Many times James is running and hiding from those who want to take his life. When God is with you, they will flee before you seven ways.
It doesn’t stop there. The verse talks about the work of the tongue as a weapon against you. Sometimes it’s difficult to defend yourself against the verbal attacks of the enemy. But God does not abandon you when you are under verbal attack. The enemy will use anyone and everyone to attack you but in those times, the Lord comes in and condemns the accuser. So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” Hebrews 13:6. Once you remain obedient to the Lord and follow in His way, God will watch over you.
Thought for Today: Friend, there are benefits when you serve God.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
