God Will Finish It

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6 NLT

There was a time in my life when I had a sewing machine in my home. It was not a piece of furniture but a tool I would use. I used it to sew clothing and many items for the home. I would always have a project: new curtains, a pencil skirt or anything I took a fancy too. Although there were many completed items, there were lots of unfinished projects also. Humans love to begin things but at times, we drop them by the way side.

God is not like that; He completes His projects! He does not have a basket of unfinished sewing projects in the basement like I had. When man sinned, God put in motion, the plan of redemption. It took many years but that didn’t mean the project was sitting in an unfinished area of heaven. No! All through the ages, God gave insight into his plan. Look at the insight in Isaiah 9:6, For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

In God’s perfect time, the plan went into action. He sent His son into the world to redeem man from sin.  When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He said, “It is finished.” Knowing that God does not behave like man, the Apostle Paul was reassuring the Philippian Church that they could have confidence in God. Whatever God has begun in your life, don’t be discouraged, He would complete it in His time; wait on Him to bring it to pass.

Thought for Today: Friend, when the way is unclear, God is still working.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
