Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. Colossians 3:23-24 NLT
The way you work tells a lot about you; it identifies your character. In the workplace you can find a variety of people with different work ethics. First, there is the, do as little as possible, worker. These individuals work when they have too; if no one is looking, they are not working. Next, there is the, take it easy, worker. These individuals work, but not would not go the extra mile. Then there is the dependable worker. These individuals work even when no one is looking. They would go above and beyond what the job requires.
When it comes to working for the Lord, be that dependable worker. Just as in the world, there are different jobs in the Kingdom of God. For the community to function adequately, you need a variety of workers. There must be health care workers, school based workers but you also need workers to clean the hospitals and schools. While most people want to be doctors, the hospital cannot function if the hospital in unclean. So although the jobs are different, they are both necessary for the hospital to function efficiently.
The same is true for the Kingdom of God. There are many workers that are necessary to do the work of ministry. The Apostle Paul talks about this in Romans 12:4-8. He used the different body parts to describe of the body of Christ. You need your ear to hear but the inner ear is responsible for our balance. Vertigo makes you feel off balanced. So although you don’t pay much attention to your ear, if your inner ear has an issue with vertigo, then life is not too balanced.
So you might feel like an ear in the Kingdom of God; something that is seen but not considered important until there is an infection. So when you have an assignment, do it with all your might, even if you feel like an ear. You are not working to please man so be encouraged, God rewards faithful workers.
Thought for Today: Friend, God is looking for faithful workers.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
Whatever we do, let’s do it as unto the Lord.
