Protection through the Blood

For the Lord will pass through the land to strike down the Egyptians. But when he sees the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe, the Lord will pass over your home. He will not permit his death angel to enter your

house and strike you down. Exodus 12:23 NLT

As far as I know, most people like to make their own decisions; they want to maintain control of their lives. Most of the time, this is possible. But there are some situations where there is a desire but the ability to do so lies with someone else; somewhat like a bird in a cage. The bird hates the cage but is unable to escape. The person who owns the cage controls the bird. Sometimes people are like that bird; their lives are controlled by another.

What do you do when the thing you want most is outside of your control? This is what happened to the children of Israel. They desired freedom but were incapable of setting themselves free. But this was the time of their deliverance. God was ready to put His plan into action and Moses was giving instructions.  Although they did not have to fight, they had their part to do. They had to place the blood of the animal from their meal on the top and sides of their doorframes. When God is ready to act, many times He uses a sword. The death angel would be released that night and only those covered by the blood would be spared. It didn’t matter what you believed; what mattered was your obedience.

Now you have a choice, do you believe the word of the servant of God? 2 Chronicles 2:20 says, Early the next morning the army of Judah went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. On the way Jehoshaphat stopped and said, “Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.”  So the people listened to the voice of Moses. The same sword that would bring destruction to one group would bring deliverance to another. You see, God is able to bring a blessing in any situation. The Egyptian mothers would cry tears of sorrow because they would lose their first born. The mothers in Israel would cry tears of joy because their children would no longer be slaves. God is able to use the sword that brings judgment to bring a blessing in your life.

Thought for Today: Friend, God will bring change in your situation.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
