Look at God!

The history of our world is full of stories of men who believed that they were really powerful. They tried to dominate and control only to find that they were not as powerful as they thought. This is true politically and even among those who operate outside the law. There is always someone who is waiting to dethrone you. Even if you remain in power for as long as you can, you will be replaced eventually. Knowing this, why do people crave power and authority? I believe some thought that they were superior and humanity would benefit from their leadership. History tells many sad stories and about the downfall of individuals with that mindset.

When it comes to power, there is no one like God. In Psalm 8:1 NKJV David exclaimed, “O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens!” What influenced David’s thoughts? Well verses 3-4 give us some insight,When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? David stood in awe at the wonders of God.

What makes God so awesome? Well He is a mighty God! When the children of Israel were living in Egypt, they were slaves. But God had an appointed time to deliver them; God showed off His power. When Pharaoh refused to allow them to leave, God sent plagues into Egypt. Then God sent the plagues in every part of Egypt except Goshen when His people lived.

When God sent the plague of the first born, Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron at night and chased them out of the land. But as soon as they left, he had a change of heart. He didn’t want to give up his unpaid labor force so he gathered his best military individuals and equipment and chased after them. But God placed and angel at their back; then, when Moses stretched fort his staff, God opened the Red Sea. They went through as on dry land. When Pharaoh’s troops followed after them into the sea, they perished. God is awesome and all the nations of the world knew that He is the only true God.

Thought for Today: Friend, there is no god like our God.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
