We all have deep desires in our hearts; things that we are afraid to tell even those close to us. We live and watch our hope die with the passage of time. Times speaks very loudly because the years look at our hope and say it’s out of reach; time removed the ability to make your hope a reality. What do you do when your hope has died?
Abraham and Sarah were living with a dream; at one time it was an elusive dream. As a young married couple, they dreamed of having a son, but nothing happened. The years came and left their dream untouched. Their hope began to die as their bodies began to age; they were forced to acknowledge that they would be a childless couple. Then, God calls Abraham, and revived their hope; God said, “I will make you into a great nation.” (Genesis 12:2 NLT) Those words gave life to their hopeless situation because he could not become a nation without a child. Verse 4 tells us that Abraham was seventy-five years old at that time.
As the years went by, no change came into their situation. They had God’s promise, but they were still a childless couple. In Genesis 18, the Lord appeared to Abraham. Abraham was very hospitable when he saw the three strangers. He prepared a meal and served them. So, they asked Abraham for Sarah, his wife; they prophesied that in one year, they would have a son. “Abraham and Sarah were both very old by this time, and Sarah was long past the age of having children.” (Genesis 18:11) Sarah was listening and she laughed. She knew that biologically, that was an impossible task.
The Lord responded to her laughter in verse 14, “Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.” Do you, like Sarah, have dreams that time has slaughtered? The Lord stands and asks the same question: Is anything too hard for the Lord? He is the God who spoke the world into existence: He said, “Let there be” and there was. He can speak life into your lifeless situation because there is nothing too difficult for our God.
Thought for Today: There is nothing too difficult for God.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
Thanks for sharing and starting my day on a positive note. Yes, nothing is impossible for God. I will continue to trust Him and be patient for God’s timing is perfect.
God bless and keep you always. Much love.
