Today, I was rereading one of my journals and I read about an experience that I forgot. Back then, I was preparing to set out on a journey, believing I was moving along the correct path. I felt confident about reaching my destination, but the Holy Spirit reminded me: “Be anxious for nothing.”
What do you do when God puts the break on your plans? I did not fight I submitted my desires and my future to the God who knows exactly what my future holds. There are times in our lives that we want a particular thing at a particular time. The Apostle Paul had a similar experience. He had a physical ailment that bothered him. He prayed three times asking God from deliverance from the issues and each time, the answer was no. What do you do when God says no? Isaiah 64:8 NLT says, “And yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand.” Yes! Our God is sovereign.
At times, that is easier said than done, but when we acknowledge that He is the potter and we are the clay it becomes easier. God has a purpose in each life, and He will use the issues we face to fulfill His plan for our lives; that is what the Apostle Paul recognized. “Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” ( 2 Corinthians 12:9). Paul understood that God’s no had a powerful impact in his life. Today I can say that I’m grateful for God’s no because His yes far surpassed His no!
Thought for Today: Friend, don’t be afraid of God’s no.
