Time to Pray

Then Jesus went with them to the olive grove called Gethsemane, and he said, “Sit here while I go over there to pray.” Matthew 26:36 NLT

Jesus took his disciples to the place called Gethsemane and asked them to sit while He went to pray. There were so many things that Jesus could have done when the end of His life on earth drew near. He could have said there were people who needed deliverance and set out to do that. He could have gone to the house of worship and taught the people. He didn’t do that.  Instead, Jesus took the time to pray. He knew that the task ahead required strength that only comes from God.

Like Jesus, you too can have a Gethsemane, a place spiritual suffering. So when you find yourself in serious difficulty, you might want call everyone who would listen to share what happened in your life. Jesus’ disciples were not aware of the season in His life and slept when they should have supported Him in prayer. 1 John 5:14-15 says, “And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.  And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.” Employ the example of Jesus and face your difficulties with prayer.

Thought for Today: God hears you when you pray

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
