I have a serious concern to bring up with you, my friends, using the authority of Jesus, our Master. I’ll put it as urgently as I can: You must get along with each other. You must learn to be considerate of one another, cultivating a life in common. 1 Corinthians 1:10 MSG
Here Paul is making an appeal to the membership of this church. It appears that there is a real problem and the members have chosen sides. Paul is making his case, stating that he is using the authority of Jesus Christ.
Paul pleads for unity. You see the church is a community of believers. There is no place in the church for the issues that divide. So Paul asked them to get along. In other words, put your differences aside. He asked them to be considerate. In other words, be careful so as not to hurt each other. He asked them to cultivate a life in common. In other words, build on common ground. Identify the things you have in common and start there.
Today, that holds true for us. Instead of focusing on our energies on our differences, we should take the time to focus on all the things we have in common. The more we focus on common ground, we will discover that we have more in common that we thought.
Thought for Today: Focus on what unites, not on what divides
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
Great message Pastor Scott. Where there is unity, there is strength.
