Purpose in the Struggle

The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. Psalm 28:7 NLT

Sometimes one of the most difficult things in life is to trust God. We are so conditioned to be self confident and self reliant that it’s difficult to let go and give the control to another, even to God. David is not focused on what he could do. He was focused on God. He knew that God was his strength. In 2 Samuel 22:33 David said, “God is my strength and power, And He makes my way perfect.”  He knew this from experience. Verse 1 tells us why he felt that way. It says, “Then David spoke to the Lord the words of this song, on the day when the Lord had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul.”

The struggles and trials in life come for a purpose. Yes they can be difficult but there is purpose in the struggles. Every problem you overcome is a step on the ladder of faith. When your trial begins you step on one rung. But as you trust God in your problem your faith grows and pushes you up on the ladder. Andre Crouch said it this way, “that my trials come to only make me strong”. As unpleasant as the trials of life may be, the Lord is your strength. Trust Him and your heart will be filled with joy.

Thought for Today: The Lord gives strength in the struggle

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory

  1. I thank God for my struggles because when I am weak I see his strength more than ever. It gives me another opportunity for my faith to grow understanding that there is” purpose in the struggle “
