Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time. Acts 16:6 NLT
There was a time in Paul’s life that no one would believe that he would be on the mission field telling people about Jesus. He was one of those religious Jews who wanted to silence the message of the gospel. He was present when Stephen was killed. But God had other plans for Paul. One day as he was on his way to cause destruction in the church; he had an encounter with God. That experience changed his life and now he was a child of God. The members of the church were skeptical about his conversation. However, Acts chapter 16 finds Paul on his missionary journey.
Many times, people are confused about the work of the Holy Spirit. But Paul was a son of God who was led by the Spirit. Paul and Silas wanted to go to Asia but the Holy Spirit said no. This sounds confusing from a human point of view. The purpose of missionaries is to spread the word so why would the Holy Spirit stand in their way? That is not a question for the child of God to ask. As a child of God, the Holy Spirit leads and you follow. No one can tell what would happen in the future or in a particular place. But if you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you, you can be sure to be in that place where you need to be; to do what God has for you to do. He leads His children.
Thought for Today: The Holy Spirit would lead you in truth
