As Mary and Joseph continued on their journey, Caesar Augustus decreed that everyone should be registered. But you needed to be registered in your own city. Joseph was a descendent of King David so he had to travel to Bethlehem. The journey was long but Joseph would not leave Mary at home alone, he took her with him.
While they were in Bethlehem, Luke 2:6-7 says, “So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”

The Son of God was born in a place we would not choose as the birthplace for our children. His birth brought rejoicing in heaven. The angels appeared in the skies saying, “Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
God is faithful. He fulfilled the promise He made in the garden. His Son was born. We can join with the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 9:15 and say, “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”
Perfect reflection for a perfect day.
