He said, “Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 2 Chronicles 20:15 NLT
One day King Jehoshaphat was sitting at home, minding his business when he got a message. The message said that a vast army was coming to attack them. The king was terrified! Three armies are coming together to fight against King Jehoshaphat. But Jehoshaphat took the time to go before God for guidance. He asked the people of God to fast and seek the Lord. He stood up in the community and began to pray. He started, “O Lord, God of our ancestors, you alone are the God who is in heaven. You are ruler of all the kingdoms of the earth. You are powerful and mighty; no one can stand against you!” verse 6.
Sometimes, like Jehoshaphat, we are afraid when we are confronted with issues and circumstances that we can’t handle. We don’t have to be discouraged, we can do what Jehoshaphat did, go to God in prayer. Don’t look at who they are or the weapons in their hands. Those things have little value when God is on your side. After he prayed, God sent word to him; God told him he did not have to be afraid because of the mighty army. God would fight his battle. “Then King Jehoshaphat bowed low with his face to the ground. And all the people of Judah and Jerusalem did the same, worshiping the Lord.” verse 18.
Thought for Today: When trouble comes, trust God.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
I love today’s thought. It’s simple trust God ,that’s all.
