But he did not doubt or waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and empowered by faith, giving glory to God, being fully convinced that God had the power to do what He had promised. Romans 4:20-21 AMP
One day, we had guests in our home and there were small children in the house. Small children are a delight; they say and do the most amazing things. I was surprised to hear one child ask to go to the pharmacy. You see, that child discovered something that most adults pay little attention to: most stores cater to little children. Shopkeepers discovered that the small assortment of child friendly merchandize would always bring parents with money into the store.
The parents agreed to stop by the pharmacy on the way home but hoped that their little one would forget. When God makes a promise, He doesn’t hope we forget; He wants us to remember and wait on it. This is exactly what Abraham did. There are those who would look at the circumstances around them and judge the promise based on the evidence that is available. Abraham didn’t look at his age or the ability of his body when he thought of the promise of God. He fixed his focus on the ability of God to do what He said He would do.
In our lives, there are so many issues we face. Sometimes the task seems impossible, just like the promise God gave Abraham. But as the years went by, Abraham didn’t change his belief. When David prayed in Psalm 25, he expressed confidence in his God. He said, “O my God, in You I [have unwavering] trust [and I rely on You with steadfast confidence], Do not let me be ashamed or my hope in You be disappointed; Do not let my enemies triumph over me.” This is what makes the difference! If you want to receive from God you must be confident in His ability to deliver. In your unsettled moments trust God, and watch Him work for you.
Thought for Today: Friend, God is faithful; trust Him.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
God never fails. He may not respond the exact moment we need Him but we can be confident that He will deliver.
