Fix Your Thoughts on Him

There are many stories about the good, old days. The days when you could buy groceries for twenty dollars and you would need someone to help to take your purchases home if you did not have a car;  stories about children playing in the yard without fear. Nowadays, if you spend twenty dollars in the supermarket, you might not need a bag to carry your purchases.

There is so much uncertainty about tomorrow; so what do you do? Do you throw your hands up in despair because the situation is out of your control? No! Yes these are uncertain times but that does not mean that you have to walk around depressed. Isaiah 26:3 NLT tells us, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” This reminds me of Psalm 121:5 NKJV that says, “The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand.” The dictionary defines keeper as one who watches or guards. So the Lord will watch over you and guard you; that is all that you need.

When you know that the Lord watches over you then you don’t have to be afraid; you can trust Him to do what He says He will do.  When King David prepared to go to battle, they prayed. They said, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.” Psalm 20:7.  Many times we focus on the chariots and the horses of the enemy and we walk in fear. When you remember the Lord and all the marvelous things He has done; there is no room for fear.

Yes, times are uncertain but God does not change.  He has been watching over His people from the beginning. He is the same today as He was yesterday and will be tomorrow. Fix your thoughts on Him and walk in His peace.

Thought for Today: Friend, real peace comes from Jesus.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory
