When God is Among Us

There are so many things I would like to do although I’m not usually afraid to tackle a problem; I would always believe that it can be done. I have approached tasks unafraid but became intimidated along the way. Sometimes, as people of faith, we often look around us and wonder, “Lord will I be able to do this thing for You”? There seem to be so many obstacles in our path.

When we look into the word of God in Joshua 3:9-10 NLT, it says, So Joshua told the Israelites, “Come and listen to what the Lord your God says.  Today you will know that the living God is among you. He will surely drive out the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites, and Jebusites ahead of you.” This tells us that the ability to accomplish our tasks in not in our strength; it can be done with God.

Joshua told them that tomorrow they will know; that is, they will be aware by their experiences that God is living among them. God gives us many opportunities to know that He is with us. While they were in Egypt, God told them in Exodus 6:7, I will claim you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God who has freed you from your oppression in Egypt.”

Is that knowledge limited to the people in the Bible or does it apply to us today? Well God drove back their enemies and he will do the same for us; we don’t have to fear. He will drive out all the “ites” in our way. Our “ites” are different. We have “fearites”, “lackites”, “doubtites”, and a lot of other “ites” but God will drive them out ahead of us. When God is among us, things happen.

Thought for Today:  Friend, God will drive out your enemy.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
