Strength in God

Have you ever had a situation that seemed to drain the life out of you? You don’t know what to do and where to turn. Every option that is available to you has a problem and you feel like you can’t take another step. It’s good to know in those times that we can call upon the Lord, that awesome God to whom nothing is impossible.

David had some moments when he felt overwhelmed. He weathered figurative, as well as, actual storms in his life.  During one of the storms, he said, The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.” Psalm 29:11 AMP.  David did not allow the storm to control his life because he recognized that the Lord gives His people strength.

You may wonder what instilled such confidence in David; David had many experiences where God delivered him. In 2 Samuel 22, David gave God thanks for delivering him from his enemies. In verse 40 he said, “For You have surrounded me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who stood against me.” And if that is not enough, God blesses His people with peace. To bless, according to the KJV dictionary, means to make happy; to make successful; to prosper in temporal concerns.

Since He blesses us with peace; we are free from worry, anxiety and discomfort in our lives.  John 14:27 says, “Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.”] So when the anxieties of life come your way, no need to fear; remember that God gives strength and blesses His people with peace.

Thought for Today: Friend, you can find peace in your storm.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
