The Lord, our Helper

Many times, we have witnessed someone being bullied. We see it on television, on the streets, and in many places where people assemble. There is someone who wants to belittle and make fun of another. These actions can cause anxiety in the life of the individual. What do you do when you are the victim?

In Psalm 22, it seems that David is overwhelmed. He believes that his enemies have somehow gained the upper hand over him. But even so, he was not about to surrender to them. Instead, he decided to call upon the Lord, his God. In verse 22 NLT, he said, “O Lord , do not stay far away! You are my strength; come quickly to my aid!”

Sometimes, we have that same experience. It feels like the enemy has gained the upper hand in our lives and circumstances. Just like David, our hope is in God. He is our strength. The Bible says in Isaiah 59:19. . . When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. In the midst of your storm, your God will show Himself strong. So today, live life one day at a time.  Then, like David, you will be able to say, The Lord doesn’t hate or despise the helpless in all of their troubles. When I cried out, he listened and did not turn away.” (verse 24)

Thought for Today: Friend, God will not ignore you cry for help.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
