Gifts! We all love to receive these unexpected things that brighten our days. Sometimes, they are elaborate and other times they are as simple as a bunch of flowers, but they bring a smile to our face. This is just one side of the story because the giver is also pleased when we receive their gifts with appreciation.
Parents love to bestow gifts on their children; some parents forgo the necessities in their own lives so they can provide for their children. If our human parents love in such a way that they can give from the point of their need and find pleasure, can you imagine how much more God is willing to give to His children? James 1:17 CEV says, “Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father who created all the lights in the heavens. He is always the same and never makes dark shadows by changing.”
We receive all kinds of gifts from others; some gifts we love and put to use right away; others, we hide in the back of the closet because we have no idea what to do with them. God’s gifts are not like that. His gifts are so superior that we call them blessings. When God called Abraham, He told him, “I will bless you and give you such a large family, that someday your descendants will be more numerous than the stars in the sky or the grains of sand along the seashore. They will defeat their enemies and take over the cities where their enemies live.” (Genesis 22:17)
God’s blessings extend to us today; but they come with a price. When Jesus was teaching the people in Matthew 6, He told them, “But more than anything else, put God’s work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well.” (Verse 33). So, there is no mystery about God’s blessings; put God first and what you desire will be yours as you aligned your will with God’s will.
Thought for Today: Friend, align your will with God’s will.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
God will never lead us wrong.
