Pray God’s Will

When my children were little, they we just like other children, they were always asking for something. The requests were determined  by their age; younger children asked for simpler things. Although, I must say, that is no longer true. Even before children can say a word, they have personal entertainment in the form of  tablets. So, parents nowadays must dig deeper in their pockets to grant a request.

The decision to grant a request lies with the parent; there are several issues to consider: is the item requested age appropriate? Would the item have a positive influence in the child’s life? Can I fit that item into my budget? After careful consideration parents make decisions. We, like children, bring our request in prayer before God. The Apostle John in 1 John 5:14 AMP says, “This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us.”

John tells us that we can have confidence when we pray. It is not the confidence that believes that just because we ask, we will receive. Our human parents don’t give us all we ask for because they want what is best for us. Do you think God would do less. God wants to give us what we need but according to His will. Sometimes, we get caught up with our own desires and plans and believe God is obligated to do what we ask.  The secret to answered prayer is understanding God’s will. If we pray His divine will over our lives and our circumstances, He will hear our prayer and grant us our petitions.

Thought for Today: Friend, ask according to His Will.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.

  1. Whenever we ask God for anything in line with His will, and really know He is listening, we can be sure He will answer us.
