What can I offer the Lord for all he has done for me? Psalm 116:12 NLT
As we await the end of the year 2020 and we reflect, we can understand what David’s question. The late Andre Crouch asked the question a bit differently; he asked, “How can I say thanks for all the things You’ve done for me?” I can take the liberty to say that many people today feel the same way. We feel overwhelmed when we consider how many people are no longer with us but God through His goodness and faithfulness have spared our lives. Andre Crouch said, “To God be the glory.” All he could do was to give thanks to God for His goodness and faithfulness.
How should we respond today? Our response should be an attitude of gratitude. Gratitude is not what happens on the fourth Thursday in November when we celebrate Thanksgiving. It should be what happens in our lives daily when we reflect on the goodness of God. Covid-19 has taught us that God’s mercy is more valuable that money because Covid-19 does not discriminate. It visits the rich and famous as well as the poor and needy. Yes, death occurred more frequently in the poor communities but the affluent were not immune to its sting. So if we are here and Covid-19 free, we should give God thanks and like Andre Crouch say, to God be the glory.
Thought for Today: In everything we need to give God thanks.
Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
Amen, it is good to give thanks; it is our reasonable service.
