Pray God’s Will

When we pray, we expect results, but we are not guaranteed results just because we prayed. We are guaranteed results when we pray with faith in God. When Jesus went to Nazareth, He did the same things He did in other areas, but Nazareth was His hometown, and they wondered where He got His wisdom and the power to do miracles.

When people are familiar with you, they tend to  underestimate your ability. They recalled His family and their background. They remembered how he worked with Joseph in the carpenter’s shop. It could be that they sit on chairs that were  made by Joseph. Then they scoffed, “He’s just the carpenter’s son, and we know Mary, his mother, and his brothers—James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas. All his sisters live right here among us. Where did he learn all these things?” And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him.” (Matthew 13:55-57NLT)

Sometimes, we can behave just like those people. God did not answer our prayer in the way we expected, at the time we expected, and we are offended. We behave like God serves us; He is obligated to do what we say, when we say and how we say. We may not what to believe that we behave in that manner, but our actions betray us.

When we approach God in prayer, we need to come humbly before Him and submit to His will in our lives. Let’s say you want to buy a house and God provides a two-bedroom house. You are upset because you wanted that five-bedroom house in another community. God knows that your company will go out of business in another two years, but you would be able to manage the house you have. When the company goes bankrupt, you are praising God for what you have. How much better it would have been to say, ‘Your will be done;” and give thanks. When we pray, let us submit our will to God and let Him have His way.

Thought for Today: Friend, trust God and His will.

Have a blessed day and walk in faith and victory.
